Which one fits your situation
Honest picks by need, including the ones that aren't us.
You want an original logo you can edit and print
That's what Graphivo is built for: original designs in about 20 seconds, a real editor and files that stay sharp at any size.
You need a quick placeholder and pay nothing
Canva's free plan or a free website-builder logo maker will do. Expect template icons that other businesses share, and check whether you can get a transparent or vector file.
You already design everything in Canva
Canva Pro makes sense if you'll use it for social posts and flyers anyway. You can still import an original SVG logo made elsewhere.
You want a logo plus a monthly brand subscription
Looka's yearly brand kit or Tailor Brands' plans bundle templates and business tools. Good if you'll use them; costly if you only needed the logo.
You want to experiment with pure image generation
ChatGPT or Ideogram are great for brainstorming. Plan an extra step to get vector files, transparent backgrounds and color versions.
You want a human designer's judgment
Hire one. A good designer researches your market and pushes back on your brief, which no generator does. An AI design can still be a useful starting point to show them.
What the table doesn't show: rights and originality
Check who else can use the same artwork. Canva's help center says logos made from its templates are not exclusive and can't be registered as trademarks, and logo makers built on stock icons share those icons between customers.
General image AI is different again: ChatGPT's terms assign the output to you but note it may not be unique. Graphivo designs are created for your brief, and once you buy, we never sell or license your final design to anyone else. No AI tool can honestly promise copyright protection, so be wary of any that do.
Good to know before you choose
Spelling your name
Full AI logo can misspell a word; choose Symbol + text and your name is always spelled right.
Flat by design
Graphivo makes flat logos that print, cut and embroider anywhere; for a glossy 3D render, bring the SVG into a 3D tool.
Strategy and naming
Graphivo designs the logo, not the brand strategy, so if you need research or naming, hire a designer and hand them your SVG.
Websites and domains
We don't build websites, but your files drop straight into any site builder, Canva or Figma.
Five questions to ask any AI logo tool before you pay
- Which package includes SVG, PDF or EPS, and do those files stay sharp when I zoom in?
- Is the transparent-background PNG included at the entry price?
- Can I see finished designs before I pay anything?
- Can I keep editing and re-downloading after I pay, and for how long?
- Is the design exclusive to me, or built from icons other customers can use too?

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI logo generator?
It depends on what you need. For a free placeholder a template tool is fine, and general image AI is fast for brainstorming. For a logo you'll print and use for years, look for vector files, an editor and a clear commercial license, and compare what you pay to get them.
Is there a completely free AI logo generator?
Some logo makers give away a PNG built from template icons shared with other users, usually as a lead-in to a website or subscription. General image AI has limited free use but no vector files. Graphivo's designs and editor are free to try, with no sign-up.
Which AI logo makers give you vector files?
Many dedicated logo makers reserve SVG, EPS or PDF for a higher tier or a subscription, and general image AI such as ChatGPT or Ideogram produces raster images only. Graphivo includes SVG, PDF and EPS in every package. The table above shows where each tool includes them.
Can ChatGPT make a logo?
It can draw a convincing logo image, but you don't get vector files, editable text or matching color and layout versions. Our ChatGPT comparison explains how to turn a ChatGPT image into usable files.
Why might the prices in your table differ from what I see?
Vendors change prices often, show different prices by country and run price tests. Ours were checked in October 2026, so check the vendor's own site before buying.
Can I trademark a logo made with an AI tool?
Often yes, if it is distinctive and not confusingly similar to an existing mark, but template-based logos usually can't be registered. Copyright in purely AI-generated art is generally not available in the US. Ask a trademark attorney for a clearance search before filing.
