The short answer

Use Canva if you need a quick placeholder logo and you'll design social posts, flyers and presentations in Canva anyway. Use Graphivo if you want a logo that is original to your business, comes as real vector files, and that you may want to register as a trademark.

Many people use both: they make the logo in Graphivo, then upload the SVG into Canva and design everything else there.

Canva details from canva.com help pages and a dated third-party review, checked in October 2026; Canva's prices vary by country and change over time. Product names are trademarks of their owners. Graphivo is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Can you trademark a Canva logo?

Not if it's built from a Canva template. Canva's help center explains that template logos are available to every Canva user, so they're not exclusive and can't be registered as a trademark. If a competitor in your town picks the same template, you can't stop them.

Graphivo designs are created for your brief rather than picked from a shared library, and the license you buy is exclusive. Whether a specific logo can be registered still depends on whether it's distinctive, so ask a trademark attorney for a clearance search before you file. No AI tool, including ours, can promise copyright in AI-generated artwork.

Use both: Graphivo for the logo, Canva for the rest

  1. Make and download your logo

Generate, refine and edit in Graphivo, then download the vector files with any package.

  2. Upload the SVG to Canva

Canva accepts SVG uploads, so your logo stays sharp in every design. Upload the white version too, for photos and dark backgrounds.

  3. Save your colors and fonts

Add your logo's HEX colors to Canva. Most fonts in Graphivo are open-license Google Fonts, so you can usually pick the same font in Canva for headings.

  4. Design everything else

Posts, flyers and presentations now match your logo exactly.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Canva's logo maker free?

Canva's free plan lets you customize logo templates and download PNG, JPG or PDF files. A transparent background and SVG export need Canva Pro, a subscription ($18/month or $180/year when we checked in October 2026).

Does Canva have an AI logo generator?

Canva offers AI image tools you can use inside designs, alongside its logo templates. AI-generated images in Canva are raster images, so to get a vector logo you'd still need to redraw or vectorize the result.

Can I use a Graphivo logo in Canva?

Yes. Download the SVG with any package and upload it to Canva, where it stays sharp at any size. The transparent PNG works in Canva too.

Which is cheaper?

For the logo alone, a one-time Graphivo package (from $9.99 for 40 designs, downloads included) costs less than a year of Canva Pro. If you'll use Canva Pro for all your marketing anyway, its logo features come at no extra cost, and the question becomes whether you want a template logo or an original one.

Are Graphivo logos made from templates?

No. The symbol and the composition are created for your brief. Your name is set in open-license fonts, which other people can also use.
