Why your logo should be a vector

A PNG or JPG is a grid of pixels, so blowing it up for a shop sign or banner makes the edges soft and jagged. A vector logo is stored as shapes and curves and redraws sharply at any size, from a browser tab to the side of a truck.

Vectors are also what the people who produce your logo work with. Sign makers cut vinyl along the paths, screen printers separate colors from them, and web developers drop an SVG straight into a page. Hand them a small PNG and most will ask for a vector or charge you to redraw it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will the files stay sharp when I enlarge them?

Yes. The SVG, PDF and EPS files stay crisp at any size, from a favicon to a building sign. Zoom in as far as you like to check.

Which package includes vector files?

Every package. Starter, Pro and Studio all include SVG, PDF and EPS files of every logo in your account. Pro adds a brand kit, a social media kit, a favicon and app icons.

Can I open the files in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or Affinity?

Yes. SVG opens in all of them, PDF opens in Illustrator, Affinity and most viewers, and EPS is there for older workflows. Text is already converted to outlines, so you don't need the fonts installed.

Do you provide CMYK or Pantone files?

No. The files use RGB/HEX colors, which is standard for vector logos, and your printer converts them to CMYK or matches them to Pantone spot colors. Pro's brand kit lists your colors with HEX, RGB and CMYK values, so the printer has them in one place.

Can I use the vector files for embroidery or vinyl cutting?

Yes, they're the right starting point. Vinyl cutters work directly from the paths, and embroidery shops convert the vector into a stitch file. Simple shapes with few colors stitch best.

Is the vector logo maker free?

Your first 4 designs, the previews and the editor are free, with no sign-up. Vector files come with every package, from $9.99 for 40 designs, paid once.

I already have a logo. Can you turn it into a vector?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG on our vectorize page and check the preview, then download SVG, PDF and EPS with any package.
