AI symbol generator for logo icons
Generate logo symbols built around one idea, with shapes that hold up from a storefront to a browser tab. Pair one with your name or use it on its own.
Abstract, pictorial or letter-based?
The symbols people remember make a single point. Pick the one thing you want people to associate with you, then choose the kind of symbol that carries it.
Pictorial
A recognizable object or animal: a fox, a wrench, a wave. Easy to understand at first sight, which helps local and consumer businesses, but look for an unusual angle or detail to avoid cliché.
Abstract
Shapes that suggest an idea such as motion, growth or connection without depicting anything. Harder to read at first, easier to own, and flexible if you add products later.
Letter-based
Your initial built into a shape. It ties the symbol to the name while people are still learning who you are. Start from the lettermark preset.
Line-art
Drawn with outlines instead of solid fills. Refined at large sizes, as long as the strokes are thick enough for the smallest place the symbol will appear.
The 16 px test
A symbol that fails as a favicon will also fail on a pen, a rubber stamp or a smartwatch notification. Run this before you choose.
Fill it black
Look at the symbol as one solid color on white. If it stops making sense without its colors, the shape isn't doing the work.
Shrink it
View it at 16 and 32 px, or zoom out until it's about the size of a fingernail on screen. Small holes and gaps should still be visible.
Reverse it
Try white on a dark background. Some shapes that look balanced in black feel heavy or spindly when reversed.
Check the silhouette
Could someone recognize it from the outline alone? A bold, simple outline beats an intricate interior.
Simplify if needed
Choose a design with fewer parts and heavier lines, or generate again with the geometric preset. Fewer parts almost always means a stronger symbol.
Putting the symbol next to your name
- Match visual weight: a heavy, solid symbol needs a sturdy font, while a fine line-art symbol pairs with a lighter weight.
- Leave a gap between symbol and name of roughly one letter's width. Tighter looks cramped; much looser and they read as two separate things.
- Align by eye. Round symbols need to sit slightly larger than square ones to look the same size.
- In a stacked layout, keep the symbol about as wide as the name or narrower, so the logo doesn't turn top-heavy.
- Decide early where the symbol appears alone: avatars, favicons, app icons and packaging seals are the usual spots.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How should I describe the symbol I want?
Name one subject, one quality and a style, like "a heron standing on one leg, thick even strokes, geometric". Long lists of objects produce scenes instead of symbols, and vague words like "innovative" produce generic swooshes.
Can I use the symbol without my business name?
Yes, the icon-only layout exists for exactly that. A symbol on its own only identifies you once people have seen it next to your name many times, so use the full logo wherever it fits and keep the solo symbol for small square spaces.
What files do I get for my symbol?
Every package includes the icon-only layout and SVG, PDF and EPS in full color, black and white, so the symbol works on photos, dark backgrounds and one-color print jobs. Pro adds a favicon and app-icon pack with an ICO file and PNGs from 16 to 1024 px, and profile pictures for eight networks.
Why does my symbol look muddy as a favicon?
Usually too much detail, thin lines, or several colors of similar brightness. Pick a design with fewer parts and bolder strokes, or generate again with the minimal or geometric preset.
Will anyone else get the same symbol?
Each design is original artwork generated for your brief, and once you buy, your final design is licensed exclusively to you. AI output can still resemble existing marks by chance, so check your industry for lookalikes and get a clearance search before registering a trademark.
How do I know if a symbol is too generic?
Cover the name and ask whether the symbol could belong to any company in your field. Globes for logistics, houses for real estate and leaves for wellness all fail that test unless something specific changes them. Ask for a less obvious subject or add a detail from your own story.
