Custom lettering or an editable font?
Full AI logo gives your name a custom hand-lettered look. Symbol + text keeps your name in an editable font next to a symbol, always spelled the way you typed it; pick the lettermark style to build that symbol from your initials.

How to judge a wordmark
A logo made only of letters is a bet on the name. Check each design against these points.
- Short names work best. Four to eight letters leaves each letter enough size to carry character when the logo is small.
- Distinctive or invented names become recognizable through their letter shapes alone. Generic words like "City Dental Care" usually need a symbol beside them.
- Long names shrink to hairlines in a social avatar, so plan a stacked layout or initials (the lettermark preset) for small spaces.
- Choose the case on purpose: ALL CAPS reads steady and formal, lowercase feels approachable, title case sits in between.
- Bold and semibold weights survive small sizes, embroidery and cheap printing. Thin weights disappear on a business card.
- Look at it in solid black first. If it only works with a second color, the letterforms need more work.
- Watch letter pairs that blur when small, like "rn" reading as "m" or "cl" as "d". Capitals or a wider font fix most of them.
- Keep a tagline small and plain, outside the main lettering, and leave it off favicons, avatars and embroidery.
Fonts worth trying for a name logo
All from the editor's font library, licensed for commercial use, including in logos.
Montserrat
Wide geometric sans that looks confident in all caps. Suits trades, studios and agencies.
Space Grotesk
A slightly quirky grotesque with a tech feel, good for software and product names.
Syne
Expressive display face whose heavier weights grow wide and bold. Works for creative studios and events.
Fraunces
Soft, warm serif with plenty of character for cafes, bakeries, publishers and food brands.
DM Serif Display
High-contrast serif for beauty, fashion and boutique hotels. Give it enough size to keep the thin strokes.
Cinzel
Classical capitals inspired by Roman inscriptions, for law firms, wineries and luxury goods. It sets everything in caps.
Pacifico
Rounded script with a relaxed, beach-town feel. Never set a script like this in all caps.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will the AI spell my name correctly?
With Symbol + text, always: your name stays in an editable font. With Full AI logo the lettering is part of the design and is usually right, but a letter can drop, double or swap. Read every character before you buy, and generate again or switch to Symbol + text if anything is off.
What's the difference between a wordmark and a lettermark?
A wordmark spells out the full name; a lettermark uses initials or a single letter. Many brands use both: the wordmark as the main logo, the lettermark for avatars and favicons. The lettermark style preset is built for the second.
Which fonts can I use, and are they licensed for logos?
The editor uses a curated library of open-license families such as Montserrat, Fraunces, Cinzel and Space Grotesk. Their licenses, mostly the SIL Open Font License, permit commercial use, including in logos. You don't need to buy a separate font license.
Is a text-only logo enough for a small business?
Often, yes, especially for professional services, personal brands and short, distinctive names. Plan for square spaces, though: social avatars, favicons and app icons need a compact mark, so prepare a single letter or monogram too.
Can I download the wordmark as a vector?
Yes, with every package: SVG, PDF and EPS, plus black and white versions and transparent PNGs up to 5000 px for websites and social posts.
How small can a wordmark go?
Test it at 100 px wide on a phone screen and about 1 inch wide on paper. If the letters blur together, pick a heavier weight or a simpler font. Below that size, use your lettermark instead.
