Color
Color palettes that work
Harbor navy
#1B2A41 · #C9A227 · #F5F3EE
Navy with a muted gold reads as stable and valuable without the flash of shiny gold. Navy gives strong contrast on white sign panels and riders, and the gold works as a thin accent line.
Modern slate
#2E3A40 · #7FA7A3 · #FFFFFF
Slate and sea-glass green feel calm and current, a good fit for agents focused on new builds, condos or coastal listings. They also step away from the red, white and blue of many brokerages.
Terracotta home
#A8492F · #2D2926 · #F4EDE4
Warm clay suggests homes and neighborhoods rather than banking. The charcoal keeps your name and contact details readable on signs and postcards.

Fonts to try
All of them are in the editor and cleared for commercial use.
Real Estate
Cinzel
Classical capitals for luxury listings and estate agents. They look settled on a brass plaque or a heavy-stock business card; keep them for the name only.
Real Estate
Montserrat
A wide geometric sans that stays legible on yard signs seen from a car and in a 150 px email signature.
Real Estate
Playfair Display
An editorial serif with a magazine feel, suited to agents who market through printed brochures, listing books and postcards.
Styles that suit real estate agents
Minimal
Simple shapes, lots of space, one or two colors
Lettermark
A monogram from your initials
Geometric
Precise circles, triangles and grids
Line art
Elegant single-weight lines
Clichés to avoid
- A house outline with a chimney: countless agents use it, so it won't set you apart on a street full of signs.
- A roof swoosh arching over the name: it was everywhere in the 2000s and now looks dated.
- Phone or license numbers inside the logo: they belong on the sign as separate text and may change.
- Delicate serifs at small sizes: yard signs are read from a moving car, so letters need weight.
- Fake gold-foil gradients in the artwork: they print poorly on sign vinyl and look cheap on screens.
Designing a real estate logo that works
An agent's logo spends much of its life on a yard sign, read from a car at street speed, so it needs a clear name, a simple mark and high contrast. The same logo lands on listing photos, open-house flags, business cards and an email signature that may be only 150 px wide. Check it at both extremes before you choose.
If you work under a brokerage, read its brand guidelines and your state's advertising rules before you design a personal or team logo. Many brokerages require their name to appear with, or more prominently than, your own brand. Leave room for the brokerage name as a separate line beside or under your mark instead of squeezing it in later.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a personal logo if I'm with a brokerage?
Often yes, but the rules vary. Many brokerages allow agent or team logos as long as the brokerage name is shown clearly, and state advertising rules can add requirements, so ask your managing broker before you print anything. Design your logo to sit next to the brokerage logo with clear space between them.
What works best on a yard sign?
A short name, a bold typeface and two high-contrast colors, because people read signs in a few seconds from a car. Put the phone number and website as separate large text on the panel, outside the logo. Navy or charcoal on white, or white on a dark color, reads well in most light.
Should a real estate logo include a house?
It's not required, and the plain house outline is extremely common. If you want a home reference, try a key, a door, a window grid formed from your initials or a roofline built into a letter. Many strong agent logos are simply a monogram and a name, which keeps working if you later move into commercial property.
What colors suit a real estate brand?
Navy, charcoal, deep green and warm neutrals are common because they suggest calm and reliability. If your brokerage has strong colors, pick something that sits comfortably next to them while staying recognizable as yours. Avoid very bright main colors, which fade fastest on outdoor signs.
If I change brokerages, can I keep my logo?
If you bought it yourself, yes, because the files and the license to your final design aren't tied to a brokerage. Your logos stay in your account, so you can adjust colors or a tagline to fit a new brokerage's rules and download the files again. Check your current agreement for any rules about branding created while affiliated.
