Where a company logo has to perform

Once a company grows past a handful of people, the logo stops being the founder's file. Sales, engineering, legal and contractors each need the right version for their job, or they'll grab a screenshot.

Pitch decks

Large on the title slide, small in the footer of every other slide. You'll want a white version for dark slides and the icon-only mark for footers.

Contracts, invoices and policies

Usually printed or saved as PDF in black. A one-color logo in the document template keeps them looking official.

Website and product UI

Vector files stay sharp in the site header and app navigation on every screen. The icon-only version covers collapsed sidebars, loading screens and the browser tab.

Dark themes

Many apps and operating systems offer a dark mode. A white or on-dark version keeps your logo from turning into a smudge on a charcoal background.

Hiring and company profiles

LinkedIn and similar sites crop the logo into a square or circle. Pro includes profile pictures sized for eight networks.

Office signage and swag

Wall vinyl, lanyards, hoodies and stickers go through print shops, which ask for vector files and a color count.

Keep the logo consistent as the team grows

Logos drift when nobody owns them: stretched to fit a slide, recolored for a campaign, retyped in a default font. A few habits prevent it.

  • Keep one shared folder of approved files and point every template at it. Delete the old screenshots people saved from the website.
  • Write down which layout goes where: horizontal in headers, stacked in square spaces, icon-only for anything shorter than about 32 px.
  • Record the exact hex values once and reuse them in slides, the website CSS and print orders.
  • Agree on clear space around the logo, for example the height of one capital letter from the name, and keep text and edges outside it.
  • Never retype the company name next to the symbol in another font. Always place the exported logo.
  • Studio includes a brand guidelines PDF covering colors, fonts, clear space and do's and don'ts, ready to send to new hires and agencies.

Sub-brands, product lines and portfolios

Decide the relationship before you generate anything. Sub-brands that share the parent's typeface and one color read as a family; sub-brands with their own style read as separate companies. Both work, but mixing the two across a portfolio confuses customers.

Settle the parent logo first and note its font and palette. Then generate each sub-brand with the same style preset and set its name in the parent's font in the editor, so the line stays coherent even when every symbol differs.

Every logo you create lives in the same account, and a package includes 30 days of downloads of all of them, so a sub-brand or product line made in that time costs only the designs you make. Studio's 500 designs suit companies with several brands. The pricing page has the details.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is a company logo generator different from a business logo generator?

It's the same generator. A company logo just gets used by more people and in more formats, from investor decks to product screens, so vector files, several layouts, a dark-mode version and written guidelines matter more.

What logo style suits a startup?

Minimal, geometric and lettermark styles age well and stay legible inside software. Avoid your sector's obvious metaphors, such as rockets, lightbulbs and globes. A B2B tool usually benefits from restraint and a symbol that also works as an app icon.

Can the logo go inside our app or dashboard?

Yes. Use the SVG in the navigation header so it stays sharp on every screen, the icon-only version for collapsed menus and the favicon, and the white or on-dark version for dark themes. Check the mark at about 24 px tall before you commit to it.

Who owns the logo if an employee creates it?

Buy from an account the company controls, ideally a shared company email, so access to edits and re-downloads doesn't leave with one person. The commercial license to your final design is exclusive, and we never sell or license it to anyone else.

Can we register the logo as a trademark?

Usually, yes. Trademark offices look at whether a mark identifies your goods or services and conflicts with existing marks, not at how it was drawn. Because AI output can resemble existing marks by chance, have a trademark attorney run a clearance search before you file.

Can a designer refine the AI logo later?

Yes. Hand your designer the SVG or EPS and they can adjust curves, spacing and details in Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape. Starting from a design the founders already agree on usually saves rounds of paid revisions.
